Recently OEM Controls coordinated a Blood Drive with the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross “prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors”. Their goal is to turn compassion from those who donate and help people affected by disaster, ensure everyone in our country has access to safe blood, and give comfort and support to our armed forces and their families. The organization is founded on the principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.
OEM Controls encourages our community to give back by either donating blood or money. If you are considering donating money you can take a look at their website at http://www.redcross.org/donations/where-your-money-goesto see where your donations are going and how they will help.
OEM Controls partners with the American Red Cross because we don’t want to be just a company, we want to make a difference and motivate others in our community to do the same. We believe that by partaking in and hosting these events we are making our little community and our big world a better place one step at a time.
Our company has set up these donations with the organization every 8 months for 10 years. The drive is open to our employees as well as the public. OEM encourages our employees to donate and by entering all who do into a raffle to win a $50 gift card. We understand that giving blood might be unsettling to some but still want to allow as many people as possible the opportunity to give back.
The most recent devastation in our country has been due to Hurricane Harvey. The American Red cross has been working tirelessly in efforts to heal and rebuild down there. Red Cross asks for your help at this time. Your donations to the organization in any way can help in those endeavors.
Our next Blood Drive will be held on Wednesday, September 6th from 9:00am to 1:45pm. Please feel free to join us in our efforts.
